This was superb to read and ponder. Switching from short-form consumption to on-the-spot, short-form writing sounds like a brilliant way to heal an overstimulated mind. Thanks for sharing your own experience so generously. One question: why do you prefer e-ink typing over e-ink handwriting?

Thank you Aylin! I appreciate the read.

That’s a good question. I’ve tried both. I think I just type so much on a normal basis that e-ink typewriting comes more naturally to me.

I also haven’t found the perfect “feel” for me yet. Kindle Scribe writing is close. Then there’s the fact my handwriting isn’t the best.

Do you prefer handwriting? What do you like about it?

I'm more used to writing by hand on e-ink, since I don't have a dedicated keyboard, but I can see how typing would be easier if the main goal is to sync quick notes to your phone and copy and paste them into the Notes app. I suppose I’m also (perhaps subconsciously) trying to hold on to handwriting in my own way.

Yeah that’s good. And worth keeping… I wish I was comfortable enough for handwriting journals etc. But never found long term success

I do find though that carrying a pocket “Field Notes” for jotting down small thoughts has been helpful for me. They would break apart after being in my back pocket so I actually just ordered a leather cover to hold them.
